About Martin Brokers
Martin's is one of the oldest money broking firms
in the United Kingdom. Its origins go back over one hundred years
to the days when London currency brokers met daily on the steps
of the Royal Exchange to fix sterling exchange rates and to trade
in Bills of Exchange.
In 1922, the company codified its business under the name of 'RP
Martin & Co' and in 1973 it was the first money broking firm
to be floated on the London Stock Exchange. The company was acquired
by Trio Holdings PLC in 1993 and it was renamed Martin Brokers (UK)
plc in 1995. In 2005 Trio Holdings PLC was acquired by RP Martin
Holdings Limited and the company was reregistered as a private limited
company, Martin Brokers (UK) Ltd.
Martin Brokers specialises in forward foreign exchange, arbitrage
and domestic sterling and employs more than 200 staff.
Martin Brokers is part of the RP Martin group of companies. Other
group companies include Trio Equity Derivatives Ltd, Trio Equity
Derivatives (Hong ong) Ltd & RP Martin SA of Switzerland.
